LLMs as Research Assistants: Automating the Mundane in Bioinformatics

Waqaas Akmal Butt is a medical graduate and bioinformatician who turned his love for computational biology into a startup he is currently building out of the Antler accelerator. After finishing multiple research projects ending in publications, and witnessing the advent of LLMs and what they were and weren't able to achieve, he is building tools that leverage AI to accelerate research in the life sciences.
